The objectives of the research was to find out whether the use BBC Learning English application is effective towards students’ vocabulary mastery at the tenth grade students of SMA Persada Bandar Lampung, and to describe how the students use BBC Learning English application in learning vocabulary at the tenth grade students of SMA Persada Bandar Lampung. Mixed-method that was an explanatory sequential design was used in conducting this research. This research was done in the tenth grade students of SMA Persada Bandar Lampung, and using an experimental group and control group consisting of 18 students in each group for the quantitative data and 4 respondents for the qualitative data. Data gathering was done by test and interview. The results of the research showed that using the BBC Learning English application was not effective towards students’ vocabulary mastery at tenth grade students of SMA Persada Bandar Lampung. It was proven by the students’ responses in the interview regarding cognitive domain and affective domain. The students still had some difficulties in knowledge and comprehension. Also, the students felt uninterested in learning vocabulary by using this application because of some factors.
