Abstract

The objectives of this study are: (1) to find out whether there is a significant influence of CIRC on students' understanding of the 11th grade students at Global Madani School (2) How to apply CIRC in teaching reading comprehension to 11th grade students at Global Madani Schools. This research is a mixed method research (Quantitative and Qualitative). This research was conducted in 11th grade science at Global Madani Bandar Lampung High School. Data gathering was done by giving posttest pretest, questionnaire and interview to 5 students. Data analysis by combining the results of the pretest posttest, questionnaire and interview. CIRC implementation with discussion techniques. Researchers create groups of students. Then the researchers distributed exposition texts for each group as a discussion. Students must find the main idea, generic structure, purpose of the text, detailed information on the text. After the discussion is over, the researcher asks the group to present the results of their discussion in front of the class. At the end of the meeting, researchers conducted a test to measure students who knew about the material. The results showed that there was an increase in students' reading comprehension in English lessons. The researcher also distributed questionnaires and interviews to find out the students 'responses about the group learning method (CIRC) and the students' responses illustrated that they enjoyed learning in groups.
