Abstract

Fany (2020), the analysis teacher strategies in teaching English language skills at Xaverius Bandar Lampung High School. The purpose of this study is to describe the strategies used by English teachers in Xaverius Bandar Lampung High School in teaching speaking and to find out how English teachers apply strategies in teaching speaking in Xaverius Bandar Lampung High School. In this research, I use a qualitative approach in the form of case studies. Data collected from observations and video recordings. Language data is transcribed, identified, explained, and analyzed using strategies in teaching speaking. The results showed that the strategies used by teachers at Xaverius High School were different. The teacher applies three strategies in teaching speaking. The teacher applies strategies to help students become active during the learning process. The strategy can help students become more active in the teaching and learning process because the application of the strategy is sufficient.
