Hariantie, S. (2019). The Implementation of Reading Stories to Children: Children’s Attitude toward Reading Analysis. This research is based on the researcher’s pre-survey on the implementation of story reading by parents towards children. As has been commonly known, Indonesia is one of countries which is weak in terms of English profiency and reading interest. It is predominantly caused by the absence of reading habit that the parents should have built since their children’s early age. It means that the home environment has a very important significant role for parents in educating their children since their early age by introducing various kinds of books to them such as comics, storybooks, etc. in order to make them interested in reading. During the reading activity, the parents do not force the children to do any activity. Instead, they just keep their eye on the children’s development while the reading activity itself. The aim of this research is to see how reading story activity by the parents towards their children affects their attitude towards reading. The parents used some bilingual books during the activity. The parents only focus onreading the story without forcing the children to think hard and speaking English. They facilitated them to improve their knowledge and along with that the children can do anything they want. In this research, the parents have an important role in making their chilldren show their attitude toward reading by using the storybooks as media to introduce for the first time. The result showed that reading stories to children can help parents to prepare their children to be ready to school. By reading the story to their children, the parents could see the development of children’ attitude toward reading from an early age. The children also showed positive attitude toward reading such as the children knowing the colors and the pictures they were read to. Furthermore, the children were also interested in reading and wanted to know more about the stories. After that, the children listened to the story carefully, they also became curious, expressive, talkative and preferred to read than before.
