Abstract

The aims of there search was to find out if there is influence of using webtoon story to improve students’ writing ability of the second grade of SMKN 1 Gunung Pelindung Lampung Timur. This research is an experimental research design which measure the score of pre-testand post-testas an instrumentto know whetherthere isan influenceofwebtoonstoryornot.Thesubjectofthisresearchisconsistedof 60studentswhicharedividedintoexperimentalclassandcontrolclass.The dataisanalyzedbyusingt-Testfortwogroupdesign. Theresultshowedthatthestudents’meanscoreofexperimentalandcontrol classinpost-testissignificantlydifferent.showsthatt-countishigherthant- table(10,706>2,002).Italsoshowsthatthesig.2-tailedvalueislowerthansig. level(0.000<0.05).Therefore,nullhypothesis(Ho)wasrejectedandalternative hypothesis(Ha)wasaccepted.Itmeansthatthereisanimpactofusingweb toonstorytoimprovestudents’writingability. Thesefindingssuggestthatthereisinfluenceofusingwebtoonstoryin improvingstudents’writingabilityofthesecondgradeofSMKN1Gunung PelindungLampungTimur.Inconclusion,webtoonstorycouldbeappliedin teachingEnglish,especiallyinwritingskill.
