Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Universitas Bandar Lampung. This research is based on the researcher’s survey. Most of the students are lack of motivation to write narrative text in their class. It happened because the students often think that English is hard to learn. Some journals also mentioned that senior high school students have difficulties in writing narrative text because the teachers’ method is not impressive. The researcher chose fable to overcome the problem. This research is aimed to know how fable improves students’ motivation in writing narrative text. The sample of this research is students of SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Bandar Lampung. The data were collected through three stages: observation, interview, and questionnaire. The result showed that, fable can improve the students’ motivation positively in writing narrative text, and writing fable in group work can improve students’ enthusiasm in learning process. But still, the teacher must accompany the students in the class because teacher’s role in giving instruction and planning the activity in the classroom is important.
