Abstract

Agustin, R (2020), Reading Material Easability Analysis Using Coh-Metrix of Six Senior High Schools In Bandar Lampung. Bandar Lampung. Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Universitas Bandar Lampung. This research is conducted to find out both of the text easability and the teacher's adjustment of reading material with the basic competence. Meanwhile, 12 teachers from six schools in Bandar Lampung were involved as the participants. This study is a qualitative research approach, and the researcher used both instruments, observation and interview. The observation data is analyzed using Coh-Metrix, and interview data is analyzed using coding (Data Compression). This research is conducted to help the teachers in measuring the reading material easability that will be used in the class, and they can select the text that appropriate with the student's ability, especially in reading, so the students can more understand if the text is easy to be comprehended. According to the finding of this research, the result showed that most of the reading materials easability used by the teachers were basic level, and it was easy to understand, but one of the materials was skilled level, so the text was difficult to understand. Moreover, most of the teachers adjust the text with the basic competence with some different strategies.
