Advisor : Deri Sis Nanda., S.S ., Ph.D Though listening comprehension is one of the important skills in foreign language learning, there has been relatively little research in this specific area. The present study attempts to investigate the students diffculties in learning listening and to investiagte the factors affect in learning listening. 33 students selected for the participant. Data was gathered by means of observation, questionnaires and interviews. The results of the study showed that limited of vaocabulary, quality of record material, accent, speed of speech, and physical factors were the major listening comprehension problems encountered by students of grade tenth at SMA Yadika Banda Lampung. Understanding students’ learning difficulties may enable teachers to help students expand effective learning strategies and eventually improve their English listening comprehension. It provided solutions also to overcome the problems were: the teacher should build students’ interest and improve listening material, give the students variety of accent while practice listening in language laboratory, building students’ knowledge about the topic, gives some strategy in listening, always motivate students. The results of this study may also be useful for those who are interested in this field.
