Abstract

The nominal group is one of the aspects of English and other languages. The nominal group is a group of words that consist of nouns or pronouns. The nominal group is divided into two structure namely, experiential structure and logical structure. The experiential structure consists of deictic, numerative, epithet, classifier, qualifier and thing. The logical structure consists of head, pre-modifier, and pre and postmodifier. The results found that nominal groups in both English and Lampungnese have similarities and differences. The first is thing on both languages is the core of the sentence and it can be pre and post modified. The position of numerative is similar in both languages .However, it also has differences in terms of deictic and epithet. Deictic and epithet in Lampungnese are more flexible than English. The next is the thing position in Lampungnese precedes classifier. The last is the use of relative pronoun to indicate qualifier in the Lampungnese represented by sai. The data found in the text and transcripts from the video recording. The goal of this research is to make the learners explore the function of the language and utilize their first language for learning English as well.
